Cigar and tobacco
Texting for cigar shops and lounges.
Tobacco is the T in SHAFT, and most texting platforms stop reading there. We register your brand, verify ages by date of birth, and get your humidor news to the people who asked for it.
Why other platforms said no
Carriers treat tobacco as restricted content. CTIA lists SHAFT as content that is "either explicitly prohibited or has additional Wireless Provider requirements." Many platforms add their own ban on top: Attentive's content policy says programs "may not contain or promote" SHAFT content.
We do the extra work. That is the product.
What Gnymble handles
Setup handled by real humans who know the category.
- Brand and campaign registration with the carriers, written for a tobacco business
- Age verification by date of birth: a new subscriber gets no marketing text until they reply with a qualifying date
- Opt-in language and keywords that match what you registered
- An exact STOP opts the subscriber out of that number at once
- Warnings on any broadcast missing opt-out language
What shops send
Limited releases. Event nights. A new shipment in the humidor. A reminder that the lounge is open late on Friday.
Broadcasts run in their own lane, so a release announcement does not queue ahead of a reply to a regular asking whether you still have a box.
Questions
Can I mention cigars in my texts?
Yes, once your brand and campaign are registered for it and your list is age gated. That registration is part of setup.
How does the age gate work?
A new subscriber gets a text asking for their date of birth. Until they reply with a qualifying date, they get no marketing messages.
Another platform shut us down. Can we move?
Tell us what happened and what you send. We will tell you plainly what it takes to register it.
